FRIDAY, DECEMBER 23 AT 7:30 PM
Join as we celebrate the Feast of Dedication (Hanukkah). It is a time and a season when we prayerfully look at our lives in light of the Maccabbean narrative and revisit what it means to dedicate ourselves to God and His purposes; a time when we ask God to:
“Examine me, God, and know my heart;
test me, and know my thoughts.
See if there is in me any hurtful way,
and lead me along the eternal way.” – Psalm 139:23-24
…even as did the Maccabees, and respond with the same resolve.
This year, we will celebrate the season with a memorable night of food, fun and fellowship. Central to the festivities will be an outdoor, fireside, taco making potluck event. Please sign up to bring taco-seasoned proteins (beef, ground turkey, chicken, even fish), salsa, taco sauce and shells, sour cream, drinks and desserts. The youth of the congregation will be providing other taco fixings such as lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, etc. We will begin the evening with Shabbat praise & worship in building 3, followed by a special, fireside message by Pastor Roger. Then, to bring Pastor Roger’s message home, there will be a special Hanukkiah candle lighting ceremony by families and individuals. Dinner and games for the youth and the young-at-heart will follow.
