ONGOING PROJECT
Calling anyone interested to learn simple crochet stitches and raise funds for Israel at the same time. All proceeds will go towards The K’dumim Project in Israel. Don’t worry, you don’t have to know how to crochet, you only need to be willing to learn how to crochet. This is a wonderful opportunity to bless Israel and at the same time acquire a great skill that can be a personal blessing to you!
Our dear sister, Marianne McGrath has a great idea to teach a number of people how to make the small nylon net Scrubbies that work amazingly well to clean dishes, pots and pans. These will be sold in our church boutique on a regular basis and eventually sold online as the demand increases. This is a skill not just for women, but for kids, teens and men too!
We recently had our first meeting and plan additional meetings to learn how to fold, pin, and cut the fabric into strips. (To be announced) More details how the project will work will be discussed at the next meeting. Thanks for your interest, we hope to see many get involved.
Listed below are some YouTube tutorials that are excellent for the willing beginner to crocheting:
Knowledge of three basic crochet stitches is all that is needed to make a Scrubbie: Chain Stitch, Double Crochet Stitch and Slip-Stitch.
When you have a good command of the three basic stitches you will be ready for more instruction about how to make the Scrubbies. Please let Marianne know when you are ready for further instruction and she will be happy to help you.
