This is not your father’s spirituality! Every generation must come to terms with what they believe for themselves. It’s not enough for teens and young adults to ride the coat tails of their parents’ relationship with God. Nor can they assume a right relationship with God if they do all the right religious things. A young person must have their own face to face encounter with God and experience His love and life changing, transforming power for themselves. This is our goal as a youth ministry: to crack open the religious cliches, to encourage young people to ask themselves the difficult questions raised by the Scriptures and to help them to apply the truths of God’s word to their individual lives and situations. This we do through our Friday night studies, drama and monthly activities. “…’For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
