SUNDOWN DEC.14-DEC.22 AT SUNDOWN
The eight-day festival of Hanukkah will begin this year at sundown on December 14th, (25th day of Kislev). It is a time and a season when we prayerfully look at our lives in light of the Maccabbean narrative and revisit what it means to dedicate ourselves to God and His purposes.
As a congregation we have the following activities planned for Friday, and Saturday (December 19-20):
FRIDAY, DEC.19 SHABBAT WORSHIP SERVICE & FIRESIDE ONEG (6th night of Hanukkah)
All are encouraged to bring a special covered dish for an outdoor treat after our Shabbat service. Please coordinate with Kevin Lugo.
We’ll have fellowship around a campfire. (Weather permitting)
Families are welcome to bring tents, sleeping bags and camp out.
SATURDAY, DEC. 20 SHABBAT OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES (7th night of Hanukkah)
We will continue to celebrate the season with a memorable day & evening of food, fun and fellowship.
Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m., Kevin Lugo and the youth are planning to prepare bread & sweets for dessert.
For the evening we plan to have fried fish, chicken, fresh tortillas and “street corn.” The cooking will begin around 12:00 noon and dinner will be ready about 5:00 p.m. Let us enjoy a casual evening of outdoor fellowship. Bring a Hanukkiah & candles to light for the 7th night, and even family games if you wish.
