During the "Six-Day War" in 1967, Jerusalem was delivered out of the hands of the nations and came under the authority of a sovereign Jewish State for the fist time in 2600 years. On the Hebrew calendar, it was the 28th day of the month of Iyar in the year 5727. According to the words of Messiah Jesus, this event marked the end of the period of the nations (Luke 21:24) Following the period of the nations, we would expect the advent of God's Kingdom on the earth. We believe that we are entering into that age now. Jerusalem is the place where Messiah Jesus will return in glory! From a prophetic perspective, "Yom Yerushalayim" must be considered one of the most important days of the 20th century. Let us rejoice in the Lord that we have lived to see it!

The adult Sunday school class continues with our study of the fundamental principles of the Kingdom of God. Having explored God’s covenants with the descendents of David (the church) and the descendents of Levi (Israel), we are studying the role of King David as a forerunner of Messiah Jesus. In the weeks to come, we will be discussing the church’s role as:
A Holy Temple
A Royal Priesthood
A Dwelling Place for God
The Local Body of Messiah
To end the section, we will study the church in “Diaspora,” (among the nations) and discover how the events of the Council of Nicea changed the church from being the Body of Messiah in the midst of Israel to a “Universal Church,” divorced from its Hebraic Roots. Future sessions will examine the function of individual believers in the church and the centrality of praise and worship for the Body of Messiah.
