We will gather as a body for a Yom Kippur service at 7:30 PM on Wednesday evening, October 9th. We will fast as a congregation from Tuesday evening until Wednesday evening when we’ll come together for worship and reflection. The Scriptures state it is a day to “humble our souls” (Lev. 23: 32). The 7th month festivals begin on Sunday evening (Sept. 29) with The Feast of Trumpets (Yom Teruah), followed by The Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) 10 days later, and will end with The Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot). The days between Trumpets and Yom Kippur initiate a process of reflection for the body to consider what the Lord has shown us to do, and will lead to the consecration of ourselves to these assignments on Yom Kippur. Please ensure that you are a part of this important service. If you need additional information, please see Pastor Roger Diaz.
Also please note Rabbi Sherwin has invited us to his congregation’s Yom Kippur services. Their services begin on Tuesday, Oct. 8th from 6:00 – 9:00 PM, and Wednesday, Oct. 9th from 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM. We will begin our service as soon as they are finished.
